Atlanta's annual user group show is designed to 'enrich and enlighten'

AMUG, the Atlanta Mac Users Group, has announced Maclanta, an all-day (9am ~ 5pm)
event scheduled for March 29 that will feature a guest speaker from Apple, seminars, a
swapfest and an auction. This year's keynote speaker is Jack Quattlebaum (title
unavailable from either AMUG or Apple's website) "who will be showing everyone what is
new with Apple."

Maclanta's expanded 2003 Mac College schedule includes Email tips & tricks, Setting up
a wireless network, InDesign and 3-D animation using Maya. These classes and a slate
of others are being taught by a coterie industry professionals.

The AMUG Auction includes donated items from vendors, local resellers and merchants
that attendees will be able to bid on and take home at greatly reduced prices. The
Swapfest will also offer attendees the chance to bargain hunt for hardware and
software from vendors an casual sellers

Maclanta will also feature a Cyber Cafe with free internet access and a Mac Clinic
hosted by a sponsoring vendor where users can get Mac service, including a "free"
system check up.

Editor's note: Are we witnessing a resurgence of user groups and the once common
regional shows? I hope so!
