We bought our HDHomeRun directly from Elgato many years ago and we've been
using Elgato's EyeTV software with the HDHomeRun ever since.

I asked Elgato if they plan on supporting any devices that support CableCARD,
and you see the response I got.

I looked around for CableCARD solutions for Mac and can't find any. Silicon
Dust has the new HDHomeRun PRIME with CableCARD, but their software is
supporting Android and Windows only.

So what we are looking for is both hardware and software supporting decryption
that runs on Mavericks and has support for streaming to iOS devices via an app
as EyeTV has done for us.

Like I said, my BIL has successfully used an antenna with his HDHomeRun and
Elgato's EyeTV software, but where we are, the antenna is not an option.

Anybody have a suggestion other than buying a TV? Until now, EyeTV + HDHomeRun
has been a very good solution for scheduling, recording, streaming both live
and recorded content to iOS devices over WiFi and cellular. Now that Comcast
is encrypting all channels, we need a new solution. We are not going to buy a
Windows Media Center. That will never happen.

We cancelled our cable TV subscription a week ago. It may just stay that way.
