I could see where this would be a problem for old Classic applications that
were poorly written. Since this and THIS and This are the same things, you
may get a few programs that can't locate that critical file they need. I'm
not sure what the point of this sensitivity was in the first place, but them
are the rules, Perl does a pretty good job of shielding me away from the
directory delimiters, I don't think this should be too big of a problem. I
know Win98 will actaully show a file I create in all caps (in Macos) as a
file that has its first letter capitalized, and the rest lowercase. Now
that's a bit whacked.

that's what that old linux partition is for :) we don't need another linux,
and the macos is geared towards graphic design people, the education market
and newbies. all in all, the interface is fantastic. It has its quirks, but
they will be resolved. anyways, Xtools is out for macosx, which allows you
to run X-apps seamlessly with osx apps. the gimp and fotoshop at once, who'd
a thunk?

personally, I'm having a blast being able to develop my Perl apps on my
desktop. now, if BBEdit can just get carbonized, It will be just fine.
