I haven't.  But I don't think it would do the job.  Odds are good that the APIs the 
Finder is using are ObjectiveC.  

This brings us back to the "Cocoa interfaces" topic, and the Perl2Objc bridge. 
Or at least, back to the sample Apple code for calling Cocoa from C or C++. 

Unless there's an Inline::Objc?
