Hi Michele,

About a year ago I was able to get MacPorts installed and build a number of 
ports on Tiger.  It took quite a long time to get it running because I think 
MacPorts first had to build a useable tool chain.  Once the new tool chain was 
built, most of the ports I tried seemed to build and run fine.
