Hey, I think you are getting concerned about nothing. There are a lot  
of folks who are very involved in the development of VO who know the  
good, the bad, and the ugly. The thing you need to keep in mind is  
although VO is a screen reader, it is not like WE or JFW. The approach  
although similar in some respects, is quite different in others.  
Apples goal from the beginning has been to provide an experience as  
close to what our sighted counterparts experience. I believe Apple  
will only do what is necessary to provide the best experience possible  
and allowing the labeling of graphics etc. is just yet one more tool  
available and any enhancements will extend the capabilities of  
VoiceOver.
