Ok, this is a gotcha On the new Nano when it's connected to iTunes.   
You'd think that if you click use voiceover that wouldn't be the case,  
but not so,  You need to uncheck use voiceover then check speak  
menus.  Use voiceover then gets dimmed, but then it get's checked  
automatically.  Why they did it this way I don't know, I'm guessing  
it's for the people who only want to hear the song name announced.
