This is not just a question of VoiceOver not working. My wife, who is sighted, confirms that the Apple icon does not even pop up, nor does the status bar appear. It would seem that the iPhone is acting as if it is totally powered down and will not come up.
When I connect it to Itunes, I'm told that my software is up to date, and given the option to restore. I have not done so this time, as restoring in the past has fixed nothing. I am going to take it back to the repair place which charged me $155 to replace the battery and damaged docking port / Thunderbolt pins (he claims moisture damage) and show him the phone that won't power up. If Voiceover is the problem, then it's causing the whole phone to crash, which doesn't make sense to me. Plus, now, there's no way to turn VO off, because the phone is completely unusable. What could be happening, during an attempted backup to Icloud during the night, which might cause this sort of unrecoverable crash? That's my only theory. Maybe I'll have the repair person let the phone sit on his counter, plugged in and connected to the network (provided he can get it working and talking again), and see if the problem is duplicated. None of the other devices that use my network are having this problem. * Mark BurningHawk Baxter * AIM, Skype and Twitter: BurningHawk1969 * MSN: burninghawk1...@hotmail.com * My home page: * http://MarkBurningHawk.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
