Hi, Using Alex on iMacs as old as 2008 with Mavericks installed and as little as 2 GB of RAM does not yield choppy speech for me. The ones with 2GB of RAM are not particularly quick at loading, but once they are up, even with multiple apps open, VO performs fine.
