Hello Brian, 1. The issue of having your threads not being deleted quickly may be a problem specific to your computer. I use mail every day, in conversation view, to delete hundreds and hundreds of thread, with gMail accounts, exchange accounts, and custom server accounts and do not experience the deletion lag that you describe. I am using a mid 2014 MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I do not use mail with any POP3 accounts, however.
