I wouldn't trust installing my OS from bittorrent. How can you be sure
it's not just legit but unmodified? I think Apple is taking the right
approach. Sure things bog down once a year for a bit when a new release
comes out but I wouldn't re architect the distribution model for that
one anomaly just to appease the impatient.

So Apple has a pretty interesting infrastructure. They have their own CDN
(content distribution network) as well as several geographically diverse data
centers and a ton of private and public peering. Torrents might distribute the
load but remember a lot of carriers also block torrents or more annoyingly slow
them down and deprioritise them or outright block them depending on how their
sand vines are configured. So that may throw a bit of a wrench in things.

apple could take a page from bittirrent on this. ftp/http is fine under most
circumstances but gets bogged down when too many users (like 35 million of us)
try to retrieve data. with torrent, users can start to share the load. this
will make transfers faster.

I could be wrong, but I believe the build released today is the same as the GM.
That could be why you're not getting any update.
