I would just like to point something out to Mark. I hope he does not mind.
Last week, I arraised my SSD drive on my I mac, and whilst there was nothing on it, I put my USB key in to the mac without choosing the start up disk in preferences. I then put the Mac on and after 3 or 4 minutes, pressed command F5 and I was in the menu of whether or not I wanted to install El Capitan. Thanks. Kawal.
