When you calibrate, you place the centre of each dot under your fingertip at 
that point. The dot stays there. Since you are then unable to find all the 
dots, your fingers are drifting across the display.

On the iPhone, I braille in away mode with the screen facing away from me. My 
thumbs hold the top edge (left edge of the phone), and my pinkys hold the 
bottom edge (right edge of the phone). My thumbs and pinkys keep my brailling 
fingers roughly in the same positions on the display.

I only use table-top mode when using the iPad.I do not need to worry about 
fingers going outside the outer edge of the display. I keep my fingers aligned 
on the iPad by holding my thumbs against the bottom of the iPad. Please note: 
In both cases, I use fingers and-or thumbs to keep myself roughly aligned.

As for calibration, the left side dots should land between 1/4 and 1/2 of a 
second after the right fingers.
