Hey everyone, so, I decided to upgrade to sierra starting with my 2010 mac
mini, also just upgraded the memory to 4 GB. I must say, so far I have had a
few major problems. First, the recovery disk assistant does not seem to work
with sierra to allow you to clone the recovery partition to an external USB
drive. I was able to do this manually using terminal, but the task is now
definitely more time consuming. I did get this done and my recovery usb drive
now works. A more serious issue relates to voiceover, I'm wondering if anyone
else has experienced this. Several times, for no apparent reason, voiceover
just quits speaking. It's hard to tell when it will happen, I have not found
any pattern to consistently reproduce it, but when it happens, I have to
completely reboot to get speech back. The audio itself is not muting, error
sounds still play, and pressing command+F5 to reenable it does not work either.
I've actually tried unplugging my speakers from the mac mini, and am using the
internal speaker, and so far it is working, though I would rather not use this
as my solution, just trying to do some process of elimination. Has anyone else
experienced this with sierra, and if so, have you found any way around it. This
was never an issue with previous operating systems.
