Simon, not sure which chrome cast you have but it works great on my Current model Samsung and auto switches beautifully. For example, I can have my TV totally powered down and say to google home “play Star Trek on master bedroom TV from Netflix” and it automatically powers on the TV and by the time the TV boots the show is already streaming. The chrome cast also supplies 4K. The model I have is called the Ultra not sure if that’s what you’re using. You may have to enable HDMI controls as well although in my set at least they were on by default. Not sure what’s up there.
