Hi, I did speak with an Apple SE and had our case posted in an internal group mentioning the rationale for us, as blind users, needing this feature. I also emphasized that it could be user configurable, if not easily, at least from the Terminal or Defaults writable. I haven't heard anything back, but that's normal. I will speak again in January to see if there's been any comments on this request.
