Wow! Donna! -For what it’s worth, I cannot believe that they even brought up the idea of charging you, considering the situation!
this is so far over the top in my opinion, that it’s just beyond words. Was this the Apple Store or a third-party dealer, if you don’t mind my asking? My apologies if I’ve missed this in your message. I wish I had a solution for you or anything that I could think of to help. I also have an M1 MBA and while my time moving into it wasn’t necessarily super smooth, it has not been nearly what you’re seeing. Personally, I also thought of abandoning the M1 and going back to an Intel machine until the kinks with Big Sur were worked out. I’m very sorry to hear about your experience, and to whatever vendor thought it was a good idea to charge you, (be it Apple or otherwise) then shame on them! This is absolutely disgraceful behavior for any vendor. If I can think of anything that might help I’ll certainly post. Best of luck to you Donna. Cheers!
