I used to use Outspoken with Mac OS9. It was more intuitive than VO, in my opinion, but it also didn't give you as much accessibility as VO does (e.g., you couldn't navigate by paragraph vs. sentence with Outspoken).
That said, I wish Outspoken were still available. There are many APPs that are inaccessible with VO, which might be accessible with Outspoken, if a version existed for OS 10.
