Johnny, My mail behaves occasionally in the manner you have described, i.e. Voiceover won't read the message: it's stuck at the beginning of the message and doesn't say anything. But it doesn't happen every time. I've repaired permissions several times. I don't know - and perhaps Scott could chime in if he has the time - there is another application that might clear things up a little. Scott mentions Cocktail but I'm afraid I haven't got a clue what it is. I will do some search for it in Google. I, too, would like to avoid the strange behaviour in reading messages that you have described.
