Hello Brandt, I use Pages on my Mac all the time. I'm a freelance translator and get Word format documents to translate which I open in Pages. Then when I'm done, I export back to Word.
You need a good knowledge of VoiceOver to be able to use Pages efficiently, but it's easy when you know how. It just isn't MS word!
