Hi, I don't think that you should need to do a re-install. Have you ever entered a password when installing any other apps? That would be the password to use. If you are still unable to remember anything then I suggest you go into Recovery mode, and then into Terminal and trick your computer into creating a new Admin user.
1. Restart the computer. 2. As the Startup chime is sounding,, hold down the cmd and "r" keys at the same time, keep them down for about 5 seconds then release. 3. Wait a bit then press cmd-f5 to start VO. 4. Press VO-m, go right to the Utilities menu then choose Terminal from that menu. When in Terminal, enter the following command: rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone This should trick the Mac into thinking that you have not yet set up your computer and thus will make you go through the setup process which will allow you to create a new Admin user. You will not lose your current user nor any of the info already on the computer. Make sure that the new user does not have the same name as your current user. Maybe use "Administrator" with some password of your choosing. Now, if you go into System Preferences when logged in with the new user, you can reset the password of your regular user so that it is usable again. HTH. Later..
