I have not been following this conversation closely, but if you are using samba just to transfer files, consider using rsync/scp/unison. I use rsync (over ssh) and scp to transfer files to and from my n800 (I actually back up my n800 nightly via rsnapshot). I am Windows Free[tm] at home, but there are Windows programs that provide ssh (putty) and rsync. Putty: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ Rsync is available via cygwin (ugh, but gets the job done) http://www.cygwin.com/ Howto: http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php Unison may be just the capability you are looking for (full smart synchronizing, not just file transfer): http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/ http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2005/03/28/replacing-rsync-with-unison/ gvb _______________________________________________ maemo-developers mailing list maemo-developers@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
