As a general rule, I would say that you should get yourself acquainted with Qt , which is the UI (and much more) framework MeeGo uses, so a good bet is to start with the ui, checking which subsystems have changed and re-bindings the UI to the new ones in meego if so.
Now with Qt, some of this work has become a lot easier since it supports many platform services through it's API already.
