I had the same problem as you, and I have a new one right now :-(

You have two options... send the device back to nokia (I did it with my first one), it should be easy but nokia's customer service is like a pain in the ass (sorry to be rude). They will return you the money (no device replacement)

With the second one (yes two devices, two bite the dust) I prefer to use the repair shop, as it is much more easy to me than trying to fight with customer service...

But having the device serviced is really the only option you have. So
that's why they couldn't tell you more: there isn't anything else to say
apart from the fact that if the LCD is broken, it has to be replaced.
