Yes, there is a hardware button above the Home button on the n800
that can be used as an Esc key.  Problem solved.

American English.  I found the dash symbol.  Yes, it's on the
virtual numeric keypad.  Problem solved.  I'm a touch typist and
never use a keypad.  I'm sure hackers found it there right away.

Took this picture (see URL above) using the n800's camera.  I
described it as an "unflattering self-portrait" in my blog, but I
actually sort of like it.

Has image quality improved in OS2008?

Regardless, I look forward to playing with the beta camera app's
video sometime soon in downtown Riverside, California.  Maybe in
front of the UCR Museum of Photography.  It's part of the
university's ArtsBlock of renovated buildings.
