I have been into KDE look and feel and theme manager and tried a variety of
themes but not seen and difference in the way the buttons get cropped or the
checkbox lines get cropped / aligned. Perhaps you tell me what theme you use
and I can try it to see?

That would tend to make sense although it doesn't explain why I see it and
other's don't. I know previously Robert and checked and we have the same
versions of most underlying programs like GTK. The only difference that does
come to mind is I tracxk wxWindows CVS head very closely whereas I think
Robert is still using 2.4 are you not Robert?
