Possibly I should stay out of this; I haven't carefully read the full
thread. But there is the detail of converting those plain text sources
to the .db files. At least some files--I'm not sure on the mailman
side--need to be converted with a manual step:

It looks like the relevant commands are postalias (which I've never
used, at least by that name) and postmap.
