I use WHM/Cpanel for managing my server and that has the tools to check for proper mail related DNS settings - but still had problems - until I moved my domain registrations over to Cloudflare - they have tools that can create the proper DNS records for you if you want and now I have complete visibility as to what the settings are and what they do.
