Well, clicking on the numbers should scroll to the footnote, but yes, they will 
be a bit far away in a top-posting scenario.

Technically, I guess it would be possible for MailMate to look for the 
footnotes-section after generating the HTML using CommonMark. If there is a 
signature in the message then MailMate could keep track of its location and 
move the footnotes. I'll give it some thought.
