The ability to read your mail is worth roughly as much as the password,
so you don't lose a great deal over forwarding in that regard. One-time
login links, password reset confirmations, etc. can all be used without
the POP3 credentials, assuming you can read the messages. Hell, with
most registrars, read-only access to your mailbox is all I need to
transfer your domain name.

Besides, is the alternative to type the password into Google Chrome? =)

(I'm not disagreeing, just pointing out how fucked we all are anyway.)
