Yea, there is Google Mobile, and G-Whizz, and MultiG, but none of them seem to be the perfect app! Mailplane is the perfect desktop app, so why not make it the perfect iPhone app??
1. Option for push notifications 2. Badge Notifications 3. Access inbox if off WiFi/3G 4. Attractive icon 5. Ability for GTalk to remain logged in with push notifications (like Beejive app) Whatever else people are asking for. Right now, G-Whizz is the best one out there, but it doesn't do it all!
