Success, Thanks Nicole, Here's what happened:
I tapped Start, typed in bass it found, among other things BassMidi config app, After browsing the other possibilities, I entered on this config app. It offered a typical browser so I drilled up and down to learn where it might be pointing by default. Surprise: All of the exe and zip files started in my downloads folder and from there they ran. But where did the exes install themselves? I knwe well that the sound fonts were left in the downloads folder and would later drill there for to answer the driver's request. But as I drilled upward via alt up arrow I found myself in sub folders of my One Drive! Why on earth is it looking there? Anyway, because I was indeed makingprogress I simply drilled up and over and down into \user\downloads. When I ran my tests, I had a nice new set of instruments on port 1, BassMIDIPortA I'd like to straighten this out and locate things precisely where I think they should be, but for now it works.
