well, yes as long as you use the motif as a tone generator you would
use its sounds. though that is a really really expensive keyboard. I
would definitely never use something that heavy or bulky for gigs. For
every day production use (and I mean if you indeed make your living as
a recording or production  engineer)  then by all means buy it. If
not, there are cheaper ones out there. Rolands have a decent set of
soundsy ou can use, and I am glad to have korg, though some bash it
too easily for  having a touchscreen which I actually use less tan 3
percent of my time (rest is on making music). So, you decide.
