I am writing to ask if any members of this list-serve can identify for me renaissance paintings or engravings after paintings which depict Virgil reading the Aeneid to the court of Augustus Caesar. This seems to be a theme for 18th- and 19th-century French paintings but I think that I've seen a renaissance image of this scene and cannot now find the image.
