Dear Spencer,
The way to speed-up the clipping process is as follows :
1) Create a new map
2) Draw a rectangle which extends (far) outside the area you want to show
3) Select the rectangle and set it as editing target (objects > set target)
4) Select the clipping polygon (with ctrl+click you can select objects below
the rectangle)
5) use objects > erase to remove the clipping polygon from the rectangle
6) in the layer control dialog position the new map above the layers you
wish to clip
It's a bit workable but clipping in this way is very fast.
I also discovered that MapInfo's clipping does not work on thematic grids
and images so I think MapInfo has a bug to fix.
Kind regards,
Ton Brouwer
