There use to be a tool called carttext.mbx on directions mag that did the trick. Worked better than any of the tools out there that I found so far (that's free that is).

You have to enter the text manually rather then using an attribute of a feature, but it works okay in a map window (not for layouts though). It lacks some of the control features you might get in a DTP packages, but it's a start and I can seeing it being useful. There are some add-ons that you can buy which will do the job though: http://www.maptext.com/ (I think there's another one but can't remember it's name at moment) Greg Driver -----Original Message----- From: Ali, Naz @ Vancouver [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 07 February 2005 16:52 To: MI-L (E-mail) Subject: MI-L Aligning Text Hi Everyone: This might be very graphic, however, in MI, for straight lines, the text can be rotated to align it to the line. How about curved lines? Is there a way to align these text (such as, river names) to the curved lines?
