I like blue for republicans, like venous blood - devoid of oxygen, full of
CO2, needing fresh air from the lungs and a pass through the kidneys.
Democrats - arterial blood: oxygenated, carrying life to all the cells,
ready for growth. One cannot exist without the other. And Nader? green bile.
bitter, alkaline fluid that aids in the digestion of fats and vitamins.
Jaundice may result if the flow of bile is impeded. Notice yellow sick color
or Bush/Gore lately.

I suggest that Republicans should always be white, since this is clearly the
preferred ethnic group of the party. It is also appropriate for the
Cheney-Bush team, since the de facto Veep (Bush) clearly has nothing between
the ears. My opinions only!

Marjorie-
Until the television coverage this year, I have always seen Republican blue
and Democrat red. This is in fact the color scheme that the Republican
National Committee prefers in their maps too.
I've always associated blue with conservative (maybe it's an IBM 'Big Blue'
suit thing). And while I would not go so far as to lump Democrats in with
Socialists, they are closer philosophically, and therefore associating red
with Democrats seems more logical to me too.
I'd be curious if anyone else had information on the subject.
