In that event, something is wrong with your SPEC distribution or something
is getting mangled when you are copying over the files. I'm not sure to
help you in this regard.

All of the students at Binghamton are actively using SPEC with MARSS and
the only issues we have seen are those with h264. We simply copy the SPEC
files into the image (as shown on our website) and run them as per SPEC
documentation -- nothing special here.
