Hi, Yesterday (Thursday Apr 26) we experienced major "lag" on our server. It did not appear to hinder the RGD mart through www.biomart.org, however our own website took as long as an hour to serve a single page.
Our database person found an error with MySQL which read [ERROR] Error in accept: Too many open files And she solved the slowdown by bouncing the server. We are wondering if any one out there has had similar problems with MySQL (we are using v4) and if so how they resolved them. We would rather not have to bounce the MySQL server every couple days. 193.62.197.71 - - [27/Apr/2007:03:06:32 -0500] "GET /biomart/martservice?type=version&virtualschema=default&mart=SSLP_mart&r equestid=biomart-client HTTP/1.1" 200 16 "-" "libwww-perl/5.79" Also, above I've included a line from our access log that is repeated over and over again (the mart changes between SSLP and RGD). I am assuming that these are requests from the EBI/CSH BioMart to our mart here. Is that correct?
