Hi Syed,

You are not going to believe this, but...

Under 0.5, I was getting a problem with marteditor, whereby
some attributes were visible in marteditor but not in martview.

You do not need to do naive. As I worked on your xml last week in your
presence and we noticed that martEditor 0.5 was unable to pass these
attributes down to actual XML from template xml. You may safely delete
such attributes one by one and export. Now you have a clean template
which would reflect whats in your config xml.

...I tried doing what you did last week, namely, from the file menu,
a "Save all". When I looked at the XML, I was a bit surprised to
see all of the previously missing attributes were present there.
When I then did a configure.pl and then restarted Apache, they were
also visible to martview. A miracle! Could it be that "Save all"
does some extra magic in 0.6?

shouldn't be! There is a secret trick of using Alt-V to view the actual datasetConfig XML in the db which is 1:1 with what you will get with martview. Would be interesting to do this before and after the saveAll if we can get your config back to the same scenario

The attributes that were hidden in 0.5 remain missing though. Is
this a feature?

So the symptom you are seeing is you have a 0.5 config with hidden atts and importing and exporting 0.6 deletes them? When you do the 0.6 imprort do they disappear at that stage?

Cheers,

David.
