She was talking mainly about her new book, The Lugano Report, which
is presented as a fictional planning document written by elite
academics. After considering global economic and ecological trends,
their conclusion is that northern living standards can be sustained
only if there's a mass die-off in the south.
In political terms, I'm pessimistic about alternatives to the WB
myself. Not that I wouldn't like to see some, just that they're not
growing on trees these days. (Cue to Bob Malecki to sound off about
the need for World Revolution, Now!)
