The parallels with the US are there, "and all the while, the political landscape keeps shifting to the right..." as Louis says. Give up on Labour already, the Lib Dems are more progressive. Is it surprising or predictable that an average performance in a fairly uninspiring tv debate can lead to such a boost for the Lib Dems? Surprising in itself, predictable if you consider how people are suffering the same kind of alienation that's been under discussion here re: the US. What if there was a real alternative?
