If any of you are near New Orleans, or plan to travel there, I suggest a visit to the Whitney Plantation. It presents the experience of plantation life strictly from a slave's perspective. The theme there is very relevant and sympathetic to how our fellow participants here would think. I also recommend a book sold there (can't remember the title) about the 1811 rebellion. Google it and you will find it quickly.
