Thank you for your informative comments (as usual) Michael K,
I wrote that *Chomsky's style* of campism is "ultraleft". I did not mean
that campism in general is ultraleft. Here is wikipedia's definition:
"Campism is a belief in left-wing politics that the world is divided into
large, competing political groups of countries ("camps") and that people
should support one camp over the other camps."
I think the article i shared illustrates well how Chomsky has become a
"theological" anti-US campist:
*Chomsky’s America-Centric Prism Distorts Reality*
*The author's perception of Washington's role in the world has ossified
into a theology, with the U.S. as a malevolent God*

I don't think the category "campist" adequately explicates left politics
because imo campists can be reformist or ultraleft, although the campists
we are familiar with on the u.s. left are generally ultraleft (and that's
where i 'placed' Chomsky). Reformists and ultralefts have their attention
on the government they are opposing. Unlike revolutionary socialists their
politics don't start with the needs and condition of the working class.
They are focused on the realm of intra-government and international
conflict (sometimes called "geopolitics"), instead of the well-being of
working people. And individual (mis-)leaders (or parties) can swing back
and forth between reformist and ultraleft perspectives.
Also i should have used "campist ultraleftism" as ultraleftism is one of
the three basic socialist, anti-capitalist strategic political perspectives
(reformist, ultraleft and revolutionary); *campist is the modifier*.
