Large numbers of working people, especially in Chavismo stronghold neighborhoods, went into the streets when the regime refused to release the vote. Gandall's imagined blackmail operation is tea far too weak to explain the protests. And the government could do no better in response than to arrest demonstrators, fire on them, and kill a couple dozen.
