living improved enormously.

Whether or not Marx forecast absolute immiseration is not the main Marxist 
rebuttal (textualists to the contrary). The median weekly earnings of U.S. 
workers peaked in 1973. Along with that, benefits like defined benefit 
pensions, two- or three-weeks of paid vacation, and secure affordable health 
care keep shrinking. And there will no return ( http://www.hollowcolossus.com ) 
of relative mass prosperity under capitalism.
