Post October LT was correct against Lenin on two issues:

The defense of Petrograd -- refusing to abandon it -- in 1919 (?) against
encroaching White armies (the only other person who supported Trotsky in this
was...Stalin);

His lone opposition to the summer of 1920 offensive against Warsaw where sadly
Trotsky was correct and Lenin, and everyone else including his own General
Staff of the Red Army were wrong: it was a disaster;

LT was completely wrong the trade union question not that it made a huge
difference as the trade unions were eviscerated anyway.

None of this goes to the issue of Marxist organization however. Despite
assertions by others here, the CCCP (Communist Party of the Soviet Union as it
finally became known) became increasingly "tight" and centralized going forward
from October through the "ban on factions", which WAS more than anything sunk
workers democracy for almost every section of the Comintern (1919 onward).
There wasn't a single party in the Comintern that modeled itself on the
*Bolshevik* party.

This all occurred with with the overal destruction of any semblance of workers
democracy in society as a whole with decline of the soviets as THE voice of the
working class.
