Right, Trotsky saw his role as promoting Leninism as he interpreted it. Trotsky 
would be relevant to this thread if someone took issue with Trotsky's 
interpretation of Leninism, rather than just Trotsky. He, did think that the 
removal of James P. Cannon and Jay Lovestone as leaders of the CPUSA 
demonstrated that the Comintern had abandoned Leninism. Much could be said 
about Trotsky's theory of organization and the many, many Trotskyist/Leninist 
organizations it has spawned in the same countries. And one of his favorite 
"Trotskyist" parties, the US SWP, evolved into a cult where the central leader 
eventually sold their Manhattan property and put the proceeds into his personal 
bank account, according to one study of the transaction.

That would make Trotsky relevant to this thread. But the usual anti-Trotsky 
coprology is irrelevant.
