The left has never simply, and automatically leapt into support for any
movement that comes along. If the MPLA hadn't existed, the left would not
have supported UNITA. The left would not have supported the Inkatha Freedom
Party. It is perfectly reasonable that the left take time to evaluate a
movement.

Mile Pompeo and Yoav Gallant have both claimed Mossad is in, boots and all.
It may be true, or it may be wishful thinking and bravado on their parts,
or it may even be a calculated measure to confuse, although give the
weakness of the left currently, that seems unlikely. But it seems
reasonable that the left Dina bit of "due diligence" before committing
itself.

I hope this movement is genuine. The Iranian people deserve better than the
theocratic government they currently have. But I won't leap to endorse a
movement I don't yet understand. And that isn't Campism. I know campists
who are opposing the protests in Iran and the change of government in Syria
for exactly those reasons - Iran opposes the US, therefore it gets a 'get
out of jail free' card.
