I don't believe you can separate the "good" aspect of Taylorism (more productivity) of the "bad" (disempowering of workers). So the productive forces cannot simply be freed but they have to be transformed. Marx himself writes along this line of thought, we can read that in *Capital*'s chapter "Machinery and large-scale industry". There a key point is the role of machinery and the techniques of organization of work fot the capitalist appropriation of the skills of workers as attributes of capital.
